On Tuesday (8/5), Wednesday (8/6) and Thursday (8/7) we will be ImPACT Testing 200 hundred student athletes in room 205.
Testing sessions will be at 1:00 pm, 2:00pm and 3:00 pm and will involve 20-25 students per session.
I need student athletic trainers every day from 12 pm – 4 pm (4 hour shift) to assist. If you can help please let me know via text of email (email@example.com). These shifts will count towards your hours.
Here is a link to the announcement on the VHS website.
On Monday August 11 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm we will be putting the Shop 6 back together and practicing taping skills. The first football game of the season is on August 28 at home. Every student athletic trainer will need to pass a skills test before being allowed on the sidelines of a game.
The skills test may include, but is not limited to:
Tearing 30 pieces of tape in one minute, Thumb Tape, Lineman Tape, Ankle Tape, Wrist Tape, Arch Tape, Shin Tape, Turf Toe Tape, Groin Spica, Shoulder Spica, etc.
Each taping skill must be completed in under 2 minutes (wrist tape under one minute).
Tape/Wrap will be judged on neatness, speed and support of body part.
If you are doubting your skills, stores like Sport Chalet and Big 5 sell athletic tape/prewrap at a reasonable rate. I would suggesting picking up supplies and practicing with a friend or another team member.
